PRESENTATION

Which are the major challenges that the imperative of sustainable development is demanding to the transportation sector? What is the role of plans, policies and programs in converging to a sustainable transport and mobility scenario in the long term? What are the real environmental and social costs of passenger road transport and freight? How can governments assure citizens’ quality of life and promote the coordination between transport modes, the necessary modal transfer, and the qualification of urban and inter-urban public transport supply providing a correct demand fit? What is the emerging role of technology and innovation?

These are some of key questions that the TDeS’07 Conference will address making use of reference case studies to be presented and discussed, by promoting the inter-sector and multidisciplinary exchange of participants’ views.

The Conference program integrates national and international recognized key-note speakers of the various key thematic areas.
